Ahmedabad Hit-and-Run Accidents Leave 2 Dead, 1 Critical

Ahmedabad hit-and-run accidents scene with police investigation near an urban road

Two separate hit-and-run accidents in Ahmedabad’s Saijpur Bogha and Piplaj areas have left two people dead and another seriously injured, with police registering cases against unidentified drivers and beginning investigations.

In the first incident, 54-year-old Arvindbhai Pannalal Parmar was walking from Saijpur Tower towards G.D. Three Roads on the evening of October 11 when an unidentified Chhota Hathi vehicle allegedly struck him from behind near Bhagwati Doodh Ghar. The driver fled the scene after the crash.

Arvindbhai was found unconscious with serious injuries to his head and other parts of his body. His younger brother, Vishnubhai, reached the spot after learning about the accident. The injured man was taken to Civil Hospital in a 108 ambulance, but doctors declared him dead during treatment on October 14. A complaint against the unidentified driver was filed at the G Traffic Police Station after the funeral.

The second accident took place near Piplaj on the afternoon of October 19. Dipukumar Ramchandra Chauhan, 33, and his friend Gautamsingh Krishnagopal Rajput, 36, were travelling by motorcycle from Piplaj towards Motipura Four Roads. At the crossroads near Nakoda Company, an unidentified Tata 407 truck travelling from the opposite direction collided with their motorcycle.

Both riders fell onto the road after the impact. The truck’s tyre ran over Dipukumar’s chest and abdomen, causing fatal injuries. Personnel from the 108 ambulance service declared him dead at the scene. Gautamsingh suffered injuries to his head and left leg and was taken to hospital for treatment.

Dipukumar’s brother, Mansingh Chauhan, later reached the accident site. He subsequently filed a complaint from V.S. Hospital against the unidentified Tata 407 driver for allegedly fleeing after the collision. Police are conducting further investigations into both cases.

The two incidents involve different locations and vehicles, but both complaints concern drivers who left before their identities were established. The reported cases now depend on police efforts to identify the vehicles and drivers involved and determine the circumstances of each collision.
