YSRC nominees announced for Andhra Pradesh local body polls across 27 urban jurisdictions

The YSR Congress party has announced 27 nominees for local body polls covering seven municipal corporations, 14 municipalities and six nagar panchayats in Andhra Pradesh, expanding its electoral presence across several urban jurisdictions.

The announcement includes nominees for municipal corporations in Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam, Eluru, Machilipatnam, Ongole, Nellore and Kadapa. The party has named Kolagatla Sravani for Vizianagaram, Varudu Kalyani for Visakhapatnam, Ganta Mohan Rao for Eluru, Lanka Jyothi for Machilipatnam, Kuppam Prasad for Ongole, Anam Vijay Kumar for Nellore and Bandi Deepthi Reddy for Kadapa.

Municipal corporations are the largest category covered in the list and oversee civic administration in major urban centres. Their responsibilities typically include services and infrastructure such as roads, sanitation, drainage, water supply and solid waste management, although the announcement did not specify the candidates’ campaign priorities or the party’s municipal agenda.

For 14 municipalities, the YSRC has nominated Pulala Rajya Lakshmi in Ichapuram, Talasila Sree Padma in Palasa Kasibugga, Chintakayala Anitha in Narsipatnam, Boddapu Thulsi in Yelamanchili, Pitla Rama Tulasi in Tuni, Manne Padma in Kovvur, Chintapalli Nageswara Rao in Ramachandrapuram, Nallamothu Tejaswi in Kondapalli, Mandali Seshachalam in Tenali, Dr Istharla Sherly in Chirala, Rachapudi Venkata Sai Krishna in Badvel, Poreddy Narasimha Reddy in Proddatur, YS Prameelamma in Pulivendula and Jinka Chalapathi in Madanapalle.

The list also covers six nagar panchayats, which are smaller urban local bodies. The nominees are Badireddy Asha Latha for Yeleswaram, Paidamukkala Divya for Vuyyuru, Polu Veera Redddy for Gurazala, Puli Shanti Reddy for Kanigiri, Sheikh Shakila Begum for Buchireddypalem and Marjula Kavitha for Kamalapuram.

The 27 nominations span coastal Andhra, Rayalaseema and northern parts of the state, including locations such as Visakhapatnam, Nellore, Kadapa, Tenali and Pulivendula. The spread gives the announcement a statewide urban footprint rather than limiting it to one municipal region.

The announcement, reported by Deccan Chronicle, did not include the dates of polling, the election schedule, nomination deadlines or details of any alliances. Those milestones will determine when the nominees formally enter the electoral process and how the contests develop in each local body.
