Vibrant Gujarat 2027 Adds AI Matchmaking to Drive Export Growth

Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2027 venue in Gandhinagar prepared for business meetings

The Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2027 will add eight sector-focused sessions on free trade agreements (FTAs) and an artificial intelligence-enabled matchmaking platform to connect Gujarat businesses with domestic and international buyers, according to the state industries and mines department.

The 11th edition of the summit is scheduled to take place from January 10 to 12, 2027, at Mahatma Mandir in Gandhinagar under the theme “Viksit Gujarat: Shaping Global Future”. The FTA sessions will focus on market access, trade and investment opportunities, tariff and non-tariff barriers, rules of origin, compliance, export financing, logistics and quality standards.

Additional chief secretary of the industries and mines department Mamta Verma said the Gujarat government is working with the Union government’s Directorate General of Foreign Trade to organise the sessions. Some related engagements are also planned in Gujarat before the summit, she said.

The sectors identified for the FTA-focused discussions include textiles and apparel, chemicals and petrochemicals, electronics and semiconductors, engineering, agriculture and marine products, gems and jewellery, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology and medical devices. Services such as information technology and IT-enabled services, artificial intelligence and fintech will also be covered.

The summit will also seek to improve export readiness for products identified under the state’s One District One Product programme. Reverse buyer-seller meetings and vendor development programmes are planned to connect Gujarat’s micro, small and medium enterprises with a wider pool of national and international buyers. The initiatives build on similar programmes held during Vibrant Gujarat regional conferences, officials said.

A proposed AI-enabled business-to-business and business-to-government meeting facility on the Vibrant Gujarat portal and app will allow businesses to identify potential partners and buyers. It will also provide a channel for connecting with central and state government officials on business-related queries. The platform is intended to make the summit’s business interface more structured than a conventional exhibition and meeting programme.

The summit’s wider agenda will include aerospace and defence, green energy, semiconductors, artificial intelligence, quantum computing, data centres, critical minerals, electric vehicles, shipbuilding, fintech, the circular economy and global capability centres. Traditional sectors, including agro and food processing, engineering, auto components, chemicals and petrochemicals, tourism, gems and jewellery, pharmaceuticals and textiles, are also expected to feature prominently.

The accompanying Global Trade Show is planned from January 9 to 13. It will include partnership pavilions and thematic exhibitions alongside the summit. The state government’s stated focus on FTAs, export compliance and logistics places the event’s business programme around the practical requirements companies face when entering overseas markets.
