Actor Tiger Shroff was safe after a firing incident near Pushpa Park under the jurisdiction of Juhu police station in Mumbai’s western suburbs, while his driver was reportedly injured, according to a report by Navbharat Times – Mumbai. The incident is said to have involved three motorcycle-borne assailants who fled after the firing.
A police official cited in the report said Shroff was not injured. The official said investigators were working to piece together the events before and during the incident. The report did not provide details about the driver’s condition or identify any arrests.
The firing has triggered political criticism of the Maharashtra government, with opposition leaders questioning the state of law and order in Mumbai. Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) leader Priyanka Chaturvedi said on X that the Lawrence Bishnoi gang had previously targeted actor Salman Khan, followed by filmmaker Rohit Shetty, and that the latest case involved Shroff. Her remarks presented the gang connection as an allegation; the police official cited in the report did not confirm it.
Congress leader Sachin Sawant accused Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis of failing to maintain law and order. Fadnavis also holds the home portfolio in Maharashtra. Sawant referred to the murder of former state minister Baba Siddique, the firing outside Salman Khan’s residence and threats received by actors and filmmakers while questioning the government’s efforts against criminal elements.
Mumbai Congress president and Lok Sabha member Varsha Gaikwad called for a separate home minister for Maharashtra. In a video statement, she questioned whether law and order remained intact in Mumbai and whether criminals still feared the police. She also asked how the safety of ordinary citizens could be assessed if actors and political leaders were not secure.
Nationalist Congress Party (Sharadchandra Pawar) legislator Rohit Pawar described the incident as concerning and linked it to the recent killing of Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) leader Pradeep Purnekar in Thane. He also referred to the earlier firing outside filmmaker Rohit Shetty’s residence in Juhu and said such incidents in the country’s financial capital could affect investor confidence. His comments were part of the opposition response and did not constitute an independent police finding.
The firing took place in the Juhu police station area near Pushpa Park. Police were continuing to establish the sequence of events, while Shroff remained safe, according to the official cited by the report.
