A shooting involving actor Tiger Shroff’s vehicle near Mumbai’s Juhu area has triggered a political confrontation over law and order, after Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut criticised Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and demanded the imposition of President’s Rule in Maharashtra. Fadnavis, who also holds the home portfolio, said Mumbai Police had secured leads and would arrest those responsible soon.
According to Navbharat Times – Mumbai, the incident took place on Sunday evening near Pushpa Park in Juhu, a short distance from Juhu Police Station. Shroff was returning from a football match in his BMW when the vehicle slowed down and three assailants allegedly arrived on a Pulsar motorcycle and opened fire.
The actor survived the incident. The report said he suffered minor scratches and burn marks on his hand caused by gunpowder. His driver, identified as Firdaus, sustained a bullet injury to his hand. An autorickshaw driver identified as Chauhan was also reported to have been injured.
The location has drawn attention because the shooting allegedly occurred close to a police station and in a densely used urban area with residents, visitors, commercial activity and road traffic. The incident has therefore become a public-safety concern beyond the security of a single public figure, particularly because two other people were reported injured during the firing.
Raut said Fadnavis was responsible for maintaining law and order as both chief minister and home minister. Referring to previous attacks involving actor Salman Khan, the murder of NCP leader Baba Siddiqui and the killing of a Shiv Sena worker in Thane, he described the situation as “jungle raj” and said Maharashtra’s conditions were moving beyond the government’s control.
Raut also alleged that the same gang could be used to attack political opponents in the future. The supplied report provides no evidence for that allegation, and it remains a political claim rather than an established finding in the shooting investigation.
Fadnavis responded that Bollywood had confidence in Mumbai Police and called the attackers cowards. He said the police had obtained leads and that arrests would follow soon. The report did not provide details of the investigative evidence, the number of suspects identified or whether any arrests had been made at the time of publication.
The responsibility for the attack was claimed through social media posts attributed to Lawrence Bishnoi gang associates Anil Pandit and Harman Sandhu. That claim has not been independently established in the supplied report. Its connection to the shooting will depend on the police investigation and any subsequent evidence or arrests.
The case places attention on the practical functioning of policing in busy neighbourhoods: response time, surveillance coverage, witness identification and the ability to prevent repeat attacks in public spaces. Those questions remain open while investigators work to establish the identity and motive of the shooters.
Fadnavis said Mumbai Police would continue the investigation and arrest the accused. The next official milestone is the police action and confirmation of the suspects involved in the Juhu shooting.
