Maharashtra’s 72 MW Solar Projects Win ₹236-Crore EPC Push

72 MW solar projects Maharashtra across a ground-mounted solar site

Truzon Clean Energies has secured a ₹236-crore engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) order to develop 72 MW of ground-mounted solar projects across four districts in Maharashtra, expanding the state’s pipeline of agriculture-linked renewable energy infrastructure.

The Hyderabad-headquartered company received the order from Hariom Power & Energy for projects in Hingoli, Latur, Parbhani and Beed. The developments are being undertaken under Component C of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha evam Utthaan Mahabhiyan (PM-KUSUM), which supports agricultural solarisation.

Truzon said the 72 MW portfolio will include projects at different stages of execution, with 15 MW already completed. The company is responsible for turnkey execution, covering design, engineering, procurement, construction, installation, testing, commissioning and performance demonstration.

Once commissioned, the projects are expected to generate 89.89 million units of electricity annually, according to the company. Truzon said the final output will depend on project specifications and operating conditions, making the stated generation figure an estimate rather than a guaranteed production level.

The four districts named in the order are located in Maharashtra’s interior and Marathwada regions, where the projects will add ground-mounted solar capacity linked to the PM-KUSUM framework. The announcement places the infrastructure within a broader effort to connect renewable generation with agricultural electricity requirements, although the supplied information does not specify the individual project locations, construction schedules or commissioning dates.

The contract also marks an expansion of Truzon’s utility-scale solar portfolio. The company, formerly known as Suntek Energy Systems, counts cricketers Sachin Tendulkar, Suryakumar Yadav and Tilak Varma among its investors, according to the report.

For the project owner and EPC contractor, the order covers the full delivery chain rather than a limited construction package. That means Truzon’s stated responsibilities extend from initial design and equipment procurement to site installation, testing and demonstrating plant performance after commissioning.

The announcement does not disclose the tariff structure, land arrangements, evacuation infrastructure, financing terms or the expected date by which all 72 MW will become operational. Those details will determine how quickly the capacity can be integrated and how the projected annual generation is realised across the four districts.

Truzon said the project portfolio is expected to collectively generate 89.89 million units of electricity each year after commissioning, subject to final specifications and operating conditions.
