Madhapur Land Deal Turns Sour as AP MLC Loses ₹25 Lakh

Andhra Pradesh MLC Ramachandraiah has alleged that two real-estate operators took ₹25 lakh from him after promising to secure five acres of land in Hyderabad’s Madhapur area, but failed to produce the property or return the money, police said.

The complaint was filed with the Jubilee Hills police, who registered a case against Tulasi Gopal and Giridhar. Jubilee Hills inspector D. Ashok said the two individuals, who were involved in the real-estate business, had collected the money as an advance after claiming ownership of the five-acre plot.

According to the complaint, the alleged transaction concerned land in Madhapur, one of Hyderabad’s prominent commercial and technology districts. The complainant said the accused subsequently failed to show him the land and did not refund the advance amount.

Inspector Ashok said the two suspects had been traced to Tirupati. Police would arrest them and bring them to Hyderabad, he said. The report did not provide details of the specific property documents shown to the complainant, the date of the alleged transaction or the sections invoked in the case.

The complaint highlights the risks involved in high-value land transactions in Hyderabad, where ownership claims, title documents and development rights can require verification across multiple records and authorities. In this case, however, police have so far described the allegations only in relation to the complaint and the preliminary case registered against the two individuals.

The immediate next step is the arrest and questioning of the suspects, according to the Jubilee Hills inspector. Further details about the alleged land claim and the investigation are expected to emerge after the police proceed with the case.
