Andhra Pradesh MLC Ramachandraiah has alleged that two real estate intermediaries took ₹25 lakh from him after promising to secure five acres of land in Hyderabad’s Madhapur area, but failed to show him the property or return the money, police said.
According to a report by Deccan Chronicle, Ramachandraiah made the complaint at the Jubilee Hills police station. The complaint names Tulasi Gopal and Giridhar, who were described by police as being involved in the real estate business.
Jubilee Hills inspector D. Ashok said the two individuals collected the money from Ramachandraiah after claiming that they owned or could secure five acres of land in Madhapur. The alleged transaction involved an advance payment of ₹25 lakh.
The complainant later found that the individuals did not show him the land, and the money was also not returned, according to the police account cited in the report. The complaint has been treated as a case of alleged cheating linked to a proposed land transaction.
Madhapur is a major real estate and commercial district in Hyderabad, where land transactions can involve large advances and multiple intermediaries. The case highlights the importance of verifying ownership and transaction authority before transferring money for property, although the police investigation will determine the facts and responsibility in this matter.
Inspector Ashok said a case had been registered against Tulasi Gopal and Giridhar. Police traced the two individuals to Tirupati and said they would be arrested and brought to Hyderabad.
The report does not specify the survey number of the land, the proposed terms of the transaction, or whether any title documents were shown to the complainant. Further details are expected as the police proceed with the investigation and record the statements of the parties involved.
