Cyberabad Municipal Corporation Commissioner G Srijana inspected parks, public amenities and ongoing development works in Kukatpally Circle on Friday, directing officials to improve maintenance, cleanliness and the quality of public facilities across several sites.
At Viveknagar Graveyard, the commissioner reviewed development works valued at ₹40 lakh and instructed officials to maintain the grills, toilets and other essential amenities. Upkeep and cleanliness were identified as priorities during the inspection.
The inspection also covered development works worth ₹70 lakh at the KPHB 5th Phase Central Median. Officials were directed to ensure quality execution and provide regular maintenance after the works are completed. The direction places responsibility not only on project delivery but also on the continued condition of the public space.
The commissioner visited parks developed at a cost of ₹40 lakh in Dream View Colony and directed officials to replace temporary flex banners with permanent information boards. The change is intended to provide more durable public information and improve the appearance and usability of the parks.
At Vishvambhara Park–1, where development works cost ₹10 lakh, Srijana instructed officials to relocate the watchman’s room suitably and install a proper entrance board. She also inspected the park’s facilities and gym equipment at Vishvambhara Park–2, where officials were directed to install an entrance board and keep the facilities in good condition.
The inspection highlights a recurring administrative requirement in urban public spaces: capital works need to be followed by routine upkeep, clear information and functional amenities. Toilets, grills, entrance signs, gym equipment and staff facilities are small components individually, but together they determine whether neighbourhood parks and civic spaces remain convenient for residents.
Officials were instructed to address the requirements identified during the inspection and ensure that the public facilities remain properly maintained and convenient for citizens. The source report did not specify deadlines for completing the directions or the agency responsible for each follow-up task.
