Juhu Firing Injures Two as Tiger Shroff Escapes Mumbai Attack

Police investigation near the site of the Juhu firing in Mumbai

Two people were injured when unidentified assailants opened fire at a car carrying actor Tiger Shroff near Pushpa Narsee Park in Mumbai’s Juhu area around 7 pm on Sunday, with police registering a case against three unidentified accused.

Shroff was leaving a football club when the firing took place, according to Deputy Commissioner of Police Mohit Garg. The actor escaped without gunshot wounds but suffered minor abrasions. His driver, identified as Firdaus, sustained a bullet injury to his left hand, while Umesh Charan, another person at the scene, suffered a gunshot wound to the chest.

Firdaus and Shroff were taken to Nanavati Hospital in Vile Parle, while Charan was taken to Cooper Hospital. A hospital update described Charan’s condition as stable. Eyewitnesses told the Times of India that multiple people were involved in the incident and that shots were fired at the vehicle as it was leaving the club.

Eyewitness Shahrukh Sheikh said the driver was hit and that a fan running alongside the vehicle was also struck. Another eyewitness, autorickshaw driver Rakesh Kumar, said three people were involved: one person on a motorcycle and two others positioned near the football club’s gate. Kumar said one assailant fired towards the seat where Shroff was sitting, while another shot the driver.

After the driver was injured, Shroff took control of the vehicle and drove him for medical attention, Sheikh said. A video purportedly showing the aftermath appeared to show the actor moving into the driver’s seat as people gathered around the car. Blood stains were visible on the vehicle and road in the footage described in the report.

Mumbai Police have registered a case under Sections 109(1) and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and Sections 3 and 25 of the Arms Act. Investigators are examining CCTV footage and forensic evidence collected from the site to identify those involved and establish the sequence of events.

Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde visited Shroff at his residence on Sunday night to enquire about his condition and assure him of the state government’s support. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis also spoke to the actor after receiving a briefing from Mumbai Police Commissioner Deven Bharti and sought strict action against those responsible.

Two individuals who identified themselves as members of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang claimed responsibility in a voice note and social media post, while also issuing threats against people in the film industry who work with actor Salman Khan. The authenticity of the claim and its connection with the Juhu firing had not been independently established. Police are continuing their investigation.
