Jaipur Garba Security Tightened With Decoy Teams and CCTV Checks

Rajasthan Police will deploy women personnel in plain clothes, conduct decoy operations and increase patrolling at Garba and Dandiya venues in Jaipur during Navratri, with security measures extending to venue gates, parking areas and routes used by attendees.

Police will prepare separate security and traffic plans for major venues and maintain vigilance after events conclude, according to the announcement reported by Times of India – Jaipur. Women police personnel and Kalika teams will be assigned to crowded and sensitive locations as part of the arrangements.

The police plan includes women’s help desks at venues and the display of posters and QR codes carrying information about women’s helplines, Raj Cop and other police contact channels. The measures are intended to make assistance points and reporting mechanisms more visible to attendees during the festival period.

Organisers will be asked to provide lists of security volunteers and ensure that CCTV cameras and other surveillance equipment are used effectively. Police teams will check entry passes and identity documents at venue gates, while monitoring entry and exit points, parking zones and the routes connecting parking areas with event locations.

Lighting and patrolling along these connecting routes will receive particular attention. The approach places areas outside the main event grounds, including access corridors and parking spaces, within the security plan rather than limiting surveillance to the dance venues themselves.

Police will also meet auto-rickshaw and taxi drivers and encourage them to report suspicious activity. Public transport vehicles will be asked to display women’s helpline stickers, creating an additional channel for passengers travelling to or from the venues.

Youth-CLG members and Suraksha Sakhis will support the pre-event dissemination of safety information through social media, WhatsApp and other digital platforms. The communication effort is expected to begin before Navratri events start, although the report did not specify the dates or number of participating venues.

An officer of additional superintendent of police rank will supervise the campaign in each district. Police headquarters will also consider recognising Kalika teams and women personnel who perform exceptionally well during the campaign. The announcement did not provide a detailed venue-wise deployment plan, traffic diversion schedule or operational timetable.
