Hazaribag Durga Puja security arrangements will include drone surveillance, videography and monitoring of social media platforms, Superintendent of Police Aman Kumar said as police prepared to maintain peace and law and order across the district.
The surveillance will focus on puja pandals, crowded areas and other locations where large gatherings are expected during the festivities. According to the SP, the measures are intended to prevent untoward incidents and allow devotees to offer prayers without inconvenience.
Police personnel will use drones and videography to strengthen monitoring of activities during the celebrations. The district police have also warned that strict action will be taken against anti-social elements attempting to disrupt the festive atmosphere or create tension.
The security plan extends to online activity. Social media platforms will be monitored to prevent the circulation of misleading or inflammatory content, the SP said. People who spread rumours, create tension or disturb communal harmony will face legal action, according to the police statement.
Kumar appealed to residents not to share unverified messages, photographs or videos on social media. He asked people to cooperate with the police, follow the law and promptly report suspicious activity to the authorities.
The police warning places particular emphasis on the speed at which unverified digital content can circulate during a period of crowded public gatherings. Residents have been asked to verify information before forwarding it and to avoid material that could contribute to tension or disturb communal harmony.
The administration is also continuing a campaign against illegal liquor during the festive period. Action will be taken against illegal activities, the SP said, as part of efforts to prevent disturbances and strengthen security across Hazaribag.
The arrangements reflect a combined approach involving physical surveillance at public gathering points, video documentation, monitoring of online platforms and enforcement against activities that police identify as potential sources of disruption. The stated objective is to ensure that Durga Puja celebrations conclude peacefully and that devotees face no inconvenience.
Police have urged residents to remain law-abiding, avoid spreading rumours and assist authorities by reporting suspicious activity. Further action during the festive period will be guided by the district administration and police as security arrangements are implemented across Hazaribag.
