Ghaziabad will hold special voter list camps on October 17 and 24 to help residents whose names are missing from the electoral roll and young people registering to vote for the first time. Booth-level officers will be available at all polling centres from 10 am to 4 pm on both days.
The campaign follows the Special Intensive Revision-2026 of the electoral roll, according to Anjani Kumar Singh, Additional District Magistrate (Finance and Revenue) and Deputy District Election Officer, Ghaziabad. The district administration said the camps are intended to ensure that every eligible citizen has an opportunity to be included in the voter list.
Help desks will be established at each polling centre. Eligible residents will be assisted with filling Form 6, the application used to seek inclusion of a name in the electoral roll. Booth-level officers will have copies of Form 6, the final electoral roll and supplementary lists available at the centres.
Residents seeking enrolment have been asked to bring self-attested copies of their photograph, proof of date of birth and proof of residence. If available, they should also carry the voter identity card number of a family member. The administration has not specified in the report whether additional documents will be required in individual cases.
The arrangement is particularly relevant for people who were left out during the revision process and for young residents becoming eligible to vote. The presence of booth-level officers at every polling centre is intended to provide local assistance rather than require applicants to navigate the process without administrative support.
The district administration will also conduct an awareness campaign ahead of the camps. Loudspeakers will be used in urban areas, while drum announcements will be made in rural areas to inform residents about the dates and facilities. Officials will inspect the camps during the campaign.
The camps also place the polling-centre network at the centre of voter-list administration. By making forms, electoral rolls and assistance available at the locations where voting takes place, the exercise links enrolment support to the neighbourhood-level officials responsible for maintaining electoral information.
Residents who believe their names have been omitted can visit their polling centre on either October 17 or October 24 between 10 am and 4 pm with the requested documents. The district administration’s stated objective is to include the names of all eligible citizens in the electoral roll.
