Delhi Traffic Police has warned of traffic disruptions and route diversions at around 30 roads, junctions and flyovers on October 10 because of a proposed protest at Jantar Mantar. The measures are expected to affect central Delhi, New Delhi and routes connecting commuters to railway stations, interstate bus terminals and the airport.

According to the advisory reported by Live Hindustan – NCR, traffic management measures will be introduced from 6 am, depending on the law-and-order situation. The police said diversions may be imposed or relaxed after assessing conditions on the ground.

Delhi Traffic Police has advised people travelling through New Delhi and central Delhi to railway stations, ISBTs or the airport to leave with extra time. It has also requested residents to avoid non-essential travel during the period of disruption.

The advisory follows a proposed protest by the Cockroach Janata Party at Jantar Mantar concerning Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. The report said Delhi Police denied permission for the demonstration, citing the organisation’s alleged failure to follow legal directions and earlier assurances during a previous protest. Police security checks were also reported at border points, bus terminals, hotels and other sensitive locations.

Commuters have been asked to monitor Delhi Traffic Police’s official social media channels for live updates, route alternatives and changes to the traffic plan. The final diversions will depend on the situation at each location.
