Chennai power shutdowns have been scheduled for Tuesday, October 13, across several neighbourhoods in Porur, Tiruverkadu, Perumbakkam, Tambaram, Pallavaram and Avadi, with electricity supply expected to be suspended from 9 am to 2 pm for maintenance work.
The interruption will also affect parts of CIT Nagar, including Model Hutment Road, South Usman Road, Chamiers Road, Nandanam Extension, South Dhandapani Street and nearby residential and commercial areas. The report said supply may be restored before 2 pm if the maintenance work is completed early.
In the Porur area, the listed locations include Sirukalathur, Kelithpettai, Nandambakkam, Periyar Nagar, Anjugambakkam, Malayambakkam, Kundrathur, Bazaar Street, Metha Nagar, Mananchery and G Square. Areas around Koladi, Parthipattu, Velappanchavadi, Noombal Road, Puliambedu, PH Road, Parivakkam and Kaduvetti are also scheduled to face the outage in the Tiruverkadu section.
The Perumbakkam list includes areas around Global Hospital, NPS School, Indirapriyadharshini Nagar, VGP Prabhu Nagar, Erikkarai Road, Sekaran Nagar, Ottiyampakkam Main Road and several residential layouts. In Tambaram, affected locations include Perungalathur, Mudichur, Chitlapakkam, Madambakkam, Rajaji Nagar, Ambedkar Street and parts of the GST Road corridor.
Pallavaram locations named in the notice include Lakshmi Nagar, Kannan Nagar, Station Border Road, Joseph Colony, Sanjai Gandhi Nagar, Joy Nagar, BSR Flats, Srinivasapuram and Vaishnav College Road. In Avadi, the listed areas are Santhipuram, Manikannadapuram and sections of CTH Road.
A second group of Tambaram locations, including Kadapperi MEPZ Area, Moulana Nagar, Thiruneermalai Main Road, Ranganathapuram, parts of GST Road, Mudichur Service Road, Market Area and Corporation Office, is also included in the scheduled maintenance shutdown. Residents and establishments in the listed areas have been advised to plan essential electricity-dependent activities around the 9 am to 2 pm window.
