Bengaluru Fuel Station Fire Contained After Jaguar Crash Injures Worker

Bengaluru fuel station fire after a car crashes into a fuel dispenser at night

A fire broke out at a fuel station in Attibele in Bengaluru Urban district late Wednesday night after a Jaguar car rammed into a fuel dispenser, injuring a station worker and forcing firefighters to respond near underground fuel storage tanks.

According to police information cited in the report, the car was being driven by Sanjay, who was accompanied by a female friend. The vehicle entered the station and was allegedly being reversed negligently when it struck staff member Guddu Kumar before hitting one of the fuel dispensers.

The collision triggered a major fire at the station. Sanjay and his companion escaped from the vehicle and reached safety, while Kumar suffered burn injuries to his legs. He was taken to a hospital for treatment.

Three fire tenders were sent to the site, and firefighters brought the blaze under control in about an hour. The incident occurred at a fuel facility where a larger fire could have created a substantially greater public-safety risk.

Police said the consequences could have been more severe if the flames had spread to the underground tanks used to store fuel. The report did not provide details of the station’s operator, the extent of property damage, or whether any case had been registered against the driver.

The injured worker remains under treatment, while the circumstances of the collision and the alleged negligent reversing are being examined by police.
