Lucknow Flood Relief Drive to Deliver Ration Kits to 10,000 Families

Lucknow flood relief workers distributing ration kits to affected families in Faizullaganj

A flood relief drive in Lucknow’s Faizullaganj was launched on Wednesday to provide ration kits to 10,000 affected households, as local representatives and supporters of defence minister and Lucknow MP Rajnath Singh coordinated assistance with the Akshaya Patra Foundation.

The campaign is intended to provide immediate food support to families affected by recent flooding in the area. Each of the 10,000 households covered by the initiative is set to receive a ration kit to help meet daily needs during the relief period.

The drive was launched in the presence of MLC Mukesh Sharma, Rajnath Singh’s Special Officer K P Singh and Public Relations Officer Raghvendra Shukla. The distribution is being carried out in collaboration with the Akshaya Patra Foundation, which is supporting the relief effort.

According to the report, Singh had earlier expressed concern over the condition of residents affected by flooding in Faizullaganj and assured that efforts would be made to maintain essential services in the affected localities. The relief campaign follows those discussions and focuses on immediate support for households dealing with the effects of the flooding.

Singh had also held discussions with Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath and urged officials to expedite the restoration of basic civic amenities in the flood-hit areas. The reported request places the relief distribution alongside the continuing need to restore essential public services in the affected neighbourhoods.

The announcement does not specify the schedule for distributing all 10,000 kits, the number of kits to be delivered each day or the particular civic amenities awaiting restoration. It also does not provide details on the duration of the relief campaign or whether additional affected localities will be included.

The ration-kit distribution is the immediate next step announced under the campaign. Further action on the restoration of basic civic amenities is expected to involve the relevant officials in the flood-affected areas.
