The Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) has extended the deadline for applications to homes under the Pune Board’s 15% social housing and 20% inclusive housing schemes until 11.59 pm on October 30. This is the third extension granted to applicants.
The deadline was earlier extended to October 22. MHADA Pune Board chief officer Rahul Sakore said the latest extension was approved because online verification of applicants’ documents was taking additional time and the MahaIT system was undergoing an update.
The housing scheme advertisement was published on August 24, when online registration also began at noon through the IHLMS 2.0 system. Applicants are required to upload documents including domicile certificates, income certificates and income-tax returns as part of the application process.
MahaIT is verifying domicile certificates and income certificates online, while income-tax returns are being checked through the Income Tax Department’s online system. According to the report, 4,925 domicile certificates and 8,513 income certificates submitted by applicants were pending verification.
MahaIT had announced that its website, portal and mobile application would remain unavailable until October 20 because of system upgrades. The interruption affected the processing of documents uploaded by applicants and contributed to requests for additional time to complete the application process.
The scheme has received significant applicant interest. As of the latest update, 141,417 applicants had paid the required earnest money deposit. The payment indicates that these applicants had progressed beyond initial registration, although those with pending document verification still required additional time to complete the application procedure.
The extension is intended to allow applicants whose documents remain under verification to finish submitting their applications. MHADA has not announced any further change to the October 30 deadline in the information available in the report. Applicants will therefore have until 11.59 pm on that date to complete the process through the designated online system.
