A bystander injured when assailants allegedly opened fire at actor Tiger Shroff’s car in Mumbai is haemodynamically stable at KEM Hospital, while police have detained three suspects, including a minor, in Rajasthan in connection with the case.
The injured man, identified as Umesh Chauhan, was outside Pushpa Park in Juhu on Sunday night when the firing allegedly took place, according to a police official. Chauhan was initially treated and stabilised at Cooper Hospital in Juhu before being shifted to the civic-run KEM Hospital around midnight for specialist care and further evaluation.
A medical bulletin issued by KEM Hospital said the bullet injury had not affected Chauhan’s heart or lungs. He is receiving treatment in the Emergency Intensive Care Unit under the Department of General Surgery, with consultations from the Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery team.
Doctors are managing his condition conservatively under close clinical monitoring, the hospital said. His vital parameters remain stable, while further imaging and specialist assessments will determine the next course of treatment based on his clinical progress. The hospital added that additional official updates would be issued as required.
Separately, Kota city police detained three people at a railway station in Rajasthan while they were travelling on the Pune-Jaipur Superfast Express, police said. The suspects included two adults and a minor. Kota Superintendent of Police Tejaswani Gautam said the operation lasted about 15 minutes.
Police said the suspects were allegedly planning to flee to Nepal. Two of those detained were identified as Ritik alias Roshan, from Begusarai in Bihar, and Rehan, from Sonipat in Haryana. The identity of the minor was not disclosed.
Gautam said one of the detained suspects was allegedly in contact with Anil Pandit, whom police described as an associate of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. The gang purportedly claimed responsibility for Sunday’s attack in an unverified social media post. That claim has not been independently verified, and police are investigating both the firing and the alleged links involving the detained suspects.
The case now involves parallel investigations into the shooting, the movement of the detained suspects and the alleged network connections cited by police. KEM Hospital’s next medical update and the investigating agencies’ further statements are expected to establish the civilian victim’s treatment progress and the legal status of the detained individuals.
