Ahmedabad Police have registered a case against two advocates and a father-son duo after an alleged altercation and disruption of official work at Hanspura police outpost and Naroda police station during proceedings linked to a property dispute.
According to the complaint filed by Hanspura outpost PSI K. S. Kumpavat, the incident began on October 14 when Surajkunvar Charan submitted an application concerning a property dispute with neighbour Narendrasinh Charan. Narendrasinh was asked to appear at the outpost with relevant evidence, and police began recording his statement in the evening.
The complaint alleges that advocates Dhruv Patel and Bharat arrived while the statement was being recorded and argued with police personnel. The police have alleged that one of the advocates used inappropriate language and challenged the officers during the proceedings. The two advocates also allegedly began recording videos on their mobile phones when the PSI explained the legal process.
The matter later continued at Naroda police station after police took Narendrasinh there for further action. The report said the advocates arrived at the station and stated that their client required medical treatment. An ambulance was called, and medical staff reportedly found no serious health issue. The decision was nevertheless taken to take Narendrasinh to Civil Hospital for examination.
According to the police complaint, further disruption occurred as preparations were made to transport him in a police mobile van. The complaint alleges that Narendrasinh used abusive language and issued threats on the station premises, while his son and the two advocates forcibly climbed onto the police vehicle and interfered with the police operation.
The case has been registered against all four individuals for allegedly obstructing public servants in the discharge of their duties and creating a disturbance during official proceedings. The police have begun further investigation into the incident.
The episode arose from a property-related dispute, but the registered case concerns the alleged conduct at the police outpost and station rather than the merits of the underlying property complaint. The available report does not establish the outcome of the property dispute or any final judicial finding against the four people named in the police complaint.
The next stage will be the police investigation into the allegations, including the events at Hanspura outpost, the subsequent proceedings at Naroda police station and the alleged obstruction involving the police vehicle.
