Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) has urged passengers to reach the airport early and plan their journeys in advance as increased traffic is expected over the Dasara festive weekend.
In an advisory issued on Thursday, October 15, the airport asked travellers to allow additional time to reach RGIA and complete check-in and security formalities. Passengers were advised to arrive well ahead of their scheduled departure times to reduce the risk of last-minute delays.
The advisory covers both airport-bound and airport-originating journeys during the anticipated rush. RGIA recommended that passengers consider app-based cabs, prepaid taxis, car rentals or the Pushpak luxury airport liner for travel to and from the airport.
The airport also said passenger service associates would be available on site to assist travellers and guide them through the airport. The advisory was issued ahead of the festive weekend, when higher passenger movement is expected at the airport.
RGIA is located at Shamshabad, on the southern outskirts of Hyderabad, making journey planning particularly important for passengers travelling from different parts of the metropolitan region. The airport’s guidance places responsibility on travellers to factor in additional road travel time as well as longer airport processing periods.
Passengers have been asked to check their travel plans in advance and leave sufficient time for the journey, check-in and security procedures. RGIA’s advisory did not announce any changes to flight schedules or airport operating procedures.
