Telangana has received about 3.55 lakh applications for graduate voter enrolment in two Legislative Council constituencies, well below the 10.36 lakh graduates registered in 2021, with the current application window closing on November 6.
According to information shared by the Telangana Chief Electoral Officer, 1,53,745 graduates had submitted Form-18 applications for the Mahabubnagar-Rangareddy-Hyderabad Graduates’ Constituency as of Thursday. Rangareddy accounted for the highest number of applications in the constituency at 43,903, followed by Medchal-Malkajgiri with 28,733 and Hyderabad with 17,165.
The constituency had 5,31,268 registered voters in 2021. That roll included 3,36,256 men, 1,94,944 women and 68 transgender voters.
In the Warangal-Khammam-Nalgonda Graduates’ Constituency, 2,01,966 graduates had submitted applications through Form-18. Nalgonda recorded the highest number at 38,645, followed by Khammam with 29,850 applications. The constituency had 5,05,565 registered graduates in 2021, including 3,32,634 men, 1,72,864 women and 67 transgender voters.
The enrolment exercise is being conducted ahead of elections to the two Graduates’ Constituencies, which are due in March 2027. The qualifying date for preparing the electoral rolls is November 1, 2026.
Eligible graduates can apply online through the Chief Electoral Officer’s website, ceotelangana.nic.in. They can also submit Form-18 and the required documents in person to Electoral Registration Officers, Assistant Electoral Registration Officers, designated officers or additional designated officers. Applications may also be sent by post to the relevant electoral registration authorities.
The CEO’s instructions state that graduates whose names are already included in existing electoral rolls can apply using the modified Form-18. An Electors Photo Identity Card number is not mandatory for enrolment in the Graduates’ Constituencies. However, every application must include authenticated copies of the required documents and certificates. A reference to an existing electoral-roll entry alone will not be treated as sufficient proof of eligibility.
The deadline for receipt of Form-18 applications is November 6. The draft electoral rolls are scheduled to be published on November 25, after which claims and objections can be filed until December 10. These claims and objections are scheduled to be disposed of by December 25, with the final electoral rolls due for publication on December 30.
