Raghu Vamsi Group Signs MoU to Advance Telangana Super Alloys Plant

Raghu Vamsi Group and AMRC representatives at a super alloys manufacturing partnership signing

Hyderabad-headquartered Raghu Vamsi Group has signed a three-year memorandum of understanding with the University of Sheffield’s Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre (AMRC), linking its UK manufacturing operations with the proposed super alloys facility and research and development centre in Telangana.

The agreement was signed through the Group’s UK manufacturing arm, PT Precision Machined Components (PT-PMC). Raghu Vamsi Group said the collaboration would strengthen manufacturing processes at PT-PMC’s UK operations and support the company’s expansion into the aerospace and defence sectors.

AMRC is recognised for expertise in super alloys and single crystal castings. Under the agreement, PT-PMC and AMRC will work on advanced, digitally enabled manufacturing practices and specialised capabilities aimed at meeting future aerospace and defence industry requirements.

The partnership is also intended to support the technology base for the super alloys facility that Raghu Vamsi Group has proposed in Telangana. The company said the collaboration would help build manufacturing know-how in India while strengthening its manufacturing footprint in both the UK and India.

“As we set up a super alloys facility and R&D centre in Telangana, this collaboration will help us build the technology foundation for the sector, with the vision of making the State a global leader in super alloys,” Vamsi Vikas Ganesula, managing director of Raghu Vamsi Group, said.

The proposed facility and research centre are part of the Group’s stated diversification into advanced manufacturing for aerospace and defence. The Hindu had previously reported that Raghu Vamsi Group planned to set up a superalloy plant in Telangana with an investment of ₹600 crore.

A further focus of the MoU is the UK-India supply chain. AMRC will assess logistics, carbon impact and inventory associated with moving materials between the two countries. The partners will also explore measures to improve supply-chain efficiency and prepare PT-PMC for relevant aerospace and defence industry accreditations.

The arrangement places the proposed Telangana facility within a cross-border manufacturing network rather than treating it only as a standalone production project. Its immediate deliverables, according to the Group, will include process improvement at PT-PMC’s UK operations, technology-led manufacturing practices and work related to supply-chain performance and accreditation requirements.
