Virar-Dahanu train delays are expected on October 11, 2026, as railway authorities undertake VNG EI commissioning work linked to the quadrupling project between Virar and Dahanu Road. Six trains will run between 30 minutes and one hour 45 minutes late, while several services will have their originating or terminating stations changed.
According to information reported by Gujarat Samachar – Ahmedabad, the engineering work will affect train operations along the Virar-Dahanu Road section. The changes are intended to accommodate the technical commissioning activity, and passengers travelling from affected stations have been asked to plan their journeys in advance.
Train number 19417, the Borivali–Vatva service, will originate from Vapi instead of Borivali. Train number 19001, the Virar–Surat service, will begin its journey from Valsad instead of Virar. In the opposite direction, train number 19002, the Surat–Virar service, will run only up to Dahanu Road.
The six services listed as delayed include the 12925 Bandra Terminus–Amritsar train, which will run 1 hour 30 minutes late, and the 12216 Bandra Terminus–Delhi Sarai Rohilla service, which will be delayed by 1 hour 45 minutes. The 14708 Dadar–Hanumangarh train and the 19217 Bandra Terminus–Veraval train will each be delayed by 30 minutes.
The 12480 Bandra Terminus–Jodhpur service is scheduled to run one hour late, while the 12933 Bandra Terminus–Vadodara service will be delayed by 30 minutes. These changes could affect passengers making onward connections or reaching stations for scheduled work, appointments and other time-sensitive journeys.
Railway operations may also be affected beyond the six specifically listed trains. The report said some other services could run 30 to 40 minutes late, while certain trains may be held for between 30 minutes and two and a half hours. It also stated that 10 to 15 mail and express trains could experience delays of 15 to 20 minutes because of the knock-on effect of the operational changes.
The disruption is linked to the quadrupling of the railway line between Virar and Dahanu Road, a project intended to add capacity to the section. The VNG EI commissioning work represents a technical stage in the project, requiring temporary changes to train operations while the work is carried out.
Passengers using the affected services on October 11 have been advised to check their train timings and revised origin or destination stations before leaving. The reported changes will apply to the services and operational arrangements listed for the commissioning work.
