Two separate road crashes in Bengaluru killed a 39-year-old tech professional and a 28-year-old nurse on Thursday, including a hit-and-run near Kudlu Gate on Hosur Road, police said.

Puneet Yadav, who lived in Kempapura in Hebbal, died after the scooter he was riding crashed into a road divider and then a roadside tree at Doddabettahalli Layout near Yelahanka. The crash occurred while Puneet and his pillion rider, Sindhu Yadav, were travelling towards Yelahanka, according to Yelahanka police.

Police said the scooter reportedly went out of control at high speed. Puneet died at the spot, while Sindhu sustained injuries and was taken to a hospital for treatment. Both were residents of Kempapura, police said.

In the second incident, Ranjith, a nurse from Kerala, was riding his motorcycle near Kudlu Gate on Hosur Road when an unidentified vehicle hit him. Ranjith was travelling to work after receiving an emergency call when the collision occurred, Hulimavu traffic police said.

He fell from the motorcycle and suffered serious injuries. He was taken to a hospital, where he later died. The vehicle involved in the crash did not stop at the scene, and its driver fled, police said.

A senior police officer said investigators were yet to identify and trace the vehicle and its driver. The case remains under investigation, with police working to establish the circumstances of the collision and locate the vehicle involved.

Ranjith lived with friends in a rented room in Electronics City and worked as a nurse with a private ambulance service in HSR Layout, police added. His travel to work followed an emergency call, according to the report.

The two crashes occurred in different parts of Bengaluru and are being handled by separate traffic police jurisdictions. The Yelahanka case involves a single-vehicle crash in which the scooter struck roadside infrastructure, while the Hulimavu case involves a vehicle that allegedly hit a motorcycle before leaving the scene.

Police have not publicly identified the vehicle involved in the Hosur Road crash or announced an arrest. Further action will depend on tracing the vehicle and establishing the sequence of events in both cases.
