UP RERA Approves 11 Projects With Rs 2,086 Crore Investment

UP RERA has approved 11 residential and commercial projects across Gautam Buddh Nagar, Lucknow, Ghaziabad, Barabanki and Moradabad, clearing the way for an estimated Rs 2,086.06 crore of investment and the construction of 1,873 units in Uttar Pradesh.

The approvals were granted at the 215th meeting of the Uttar Pradesh Real Estate Regulatory Authority, chaired by its president Sanjay Bhूसरेड्डी. The projects were reviewed before receiving approval, according to a report by Aaj Tak Business. The sanctioned developments include residential housing as well as commercial units.

Gautam Buddh Nagar, which includes Noida, accounts for the largest share of the proposed investment. Two residential projects in the district involve an estimated Rs 1,800.36 crore and will provide 1,398 residential units. The district therefore accounts for about 86% of the total investment covered by the approvals.

Lucknow received the highest number of project approvals, with five projects cleared by the authority. These include two residential and three commercial developments. Together, they involve an estimated investment of Rs 169.53 crore and are expected to create 198 units.

Ghaziabad received approval for two residential projects involving Rs 106.84 crore and 211 residential units. In Barabanki, one residential project has been approved with an estimated investment of Rs 5.78 crore and 53 units. Moradabad received approval for one commercial project involving Rs 3.55 crore and 13 units.

The distribution shows a sharp concentration of investment in Noida, while project activity is more dispersed across Lucknow and the other districts. The approvals cover different scales of development, from the large residential projects in Gautam Buddh Nagar to smaller projects in Barabanki and Moradabad.

UP RERA said the proposed investment could also support linked sectors, including construction materials, transport, engineering and labour. The authority said the projects may increase local economic activity and create employment opportunities as development progresses.

The regulator also emphasised that project registration would be followed by monitoring to ensure compliance with the Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act and adherence to approved timelines. This places the focus not only on granting project permissions but also on tracking implementation after registration.

According to Sanjay Bhूसरेड्डी, the authority is working to make real estate development in Uttar Pradesh more organised, transparent and accountable. He said approvals were being issued through a defined process while project development was also being monitored. The authority has described maintaining a reliable system for both promoters and homebuyers as a priority.

The next stage for the approved projects will involve their implementation under the applicable RERA requirements, including compliance monitoring and progress oversight by the authority.
