The Election Commission of India has scheduled publication of the final voter list for Uttar Pradesh on January 4, 2027, after a special summary revision of electoral rolls across all Assembly constituencies. The exercise will use January 1, 2027, as the qualifying date for determining voter eligibility and will include changes to polling-station arrangements.
Chief electoral officer Navdeep Rinwa said the rationalisation and reorganisation of polling stations will be completed by November 2, 2026. The draft electoral rolls will then be published on November 12, beginning the formal period during which voters can check their details and submit claims or objections.
Voters will have until December 11 to seek inclusion of their names or request deletions and corrections in the rolls. The claims and objections period will run for one month, from November 12 to December 11. Electoral authorities will examine and dispose of the submissions by December 28 before publishing the final rolls on January 4.
The revision will cover all Assembly constituencies in the state. Its stated purpose is to update the electoral rolls ahead of the Assembly elections, ensure that eligible voters are included and correct inaccuracies in existing entries.
The process also places an administrative responsibility on district election officers, who have been instructed to make the necessary arrangements and comply with the prescribed schedule. Since polling-station rationalisation is scheduled before publication of the draft rolls, changes to station arrangements will form part of the preparatory work for the revision.
Rinwa said meetings with recognised political parties would be held at both state and district levels to explain the Election Commission’s guidelines and the procedures governing the revision. These meetings are intended to familiarise political parties with the schedule and provide information on how the roll-revision process will be conducted.
For voters, the key administrative window will open with the publication of the draft rolls on November 12. Claims, objections and correction requests must be submitted by December 11, after which officials will process the submissions before the final list is issued. The final electoral rolls will be published on January 4, 2027, following completion of the examination and disposal of claims and objections by December 28.
