TGSRTC will operate special Dasara buses from residential colonies, gated communities, townships, hostels and colleges across Hyderabad for groups of at least 30 passengers travelling together, Telangana Today reported on October 8. The arrangement is intended to help festival travellers avoid crowded bus depots and begin their journeys from locations closer to where they live or study.
The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation is offering the service to groups of students, employees and families planning to travel to their native places during the Dasara holiday rush. Residents and students can approach the concerned TGSRTC officials to request a dedicated bus from their locality.
The service will be arranged based on demand. If sufficient requests are received from a residential area, the corporation will operate the special bus from that location rather than requiring passengers to first reach a major bus station. The report did not specify the number of buses that will be deployed or the routes and departure schedules that will be followed.
The facility is particularly aimed at large residential developments where several families may be travelling to the same region during the holidays. Gated communities and townships can therefore organise group travel from within or near their premises, reducing the need for passengers to carry luggage to crowded depots before boarding.
TGSRTC has also extended the arrangement to students staying in hostels and colleges. Groups planning to return to their native places for Dasara can seek dedicated services from their campuses or hostel areas, subject to sufficient demand from the locality.
The demand-based model allows the corporation to identify clusters of travellers before assigning services. It also gives residential communities and educational institutions a way to coordinate festival travel collectively instead of sending individual passengers to bus stations during the peak period.
The corporation will arrange special services from different Hyderabad localities according to the requests it receives. Travellers seeking the facility must form groups of at least 30 passengers and contact the concerned TGSRTC officials for further coordination.
