Telangana Police Probe Russian Army Recruitment Claim After Job Fraud Complaint

Russian Army recruitment complaint investigated by Telangana Police after an overseas job fraud allegation.

Telangana Police have registered a case against a suspected job agent after a woman from Rajanna-Sircilla district alleged that her husband was deceived into travelling to Russia for employment and was subsequently forced into the Russian Army. She has sought government intervention to secure his safe return from a reported conflict zone near the Ukraine border.

The complainant, Domati Rakshitha, approached the police seeking action against Dharnam Srinivas, an agent associated with Aditya Manpower in Sircilla town. According to her complaint, her husband, Domati Kishan, was looking for employment opportunities and paid Rs 2.5 lakh to Srinivas after being promised a job in Russia.

Rakshitha stated that Kishan travelled to Russia on September 5, 2026, expecting to take up the employment offered through the agent. She alleged that he was later deceived and forcibly inducted into the Russian Army against his will. Kishan subsequently contacted her by phone and informed her that he had been sent to a conflict zone near the Ukraine border, according to the complaint.

The police case covers the alleged role of the recruitment agent and the circumstances under which Kishan travelled to Russia. Yellareddypet Sub-Inspector N Ramesh confirmed that a complaint had been received and that an investigation was under way.

“We have received a complaint from a woman named Domapati Rakshitha stating that her husband Kishan went to Russia for a job opportunity through Aditya Manpower agent Srinivas. We have registered a case against the agent and are investigating the matter. The woman has requested that her husband be brought back to his native place,” Ramesh said.

The investigation is expected to examine the employment promise made to Kishan, the payment of Rs 2.5 lakh, the agent’s connection with Aditya Manpower and the circumstances surrounding Kishan’s reported induction into the Russian Army. The police are also looking into how he travelled to Russia and what happened after his arrival.

Rakshitha has requested assistance from the Centre for her husband’s safe repatriation. The case highlights the risks faced by Indian job seekers who rely on private agents for overseas employment, particularly when recruitment terms and the nature of the work are not independently verified before departure. In this case, however, the allegations remain subject to the police investigation.

Further details about Kishan’s current location, his legal status in Russia and the response of the alleged agent were not immediately available. Police said they were continuing their investigation, while the family awaited assistance for his return to India.
