Telangana graduate voter enrolment has reached around 3.55 lakh applications across two legislative council constituencies, well below the 10.36 lakh graduates registered in 2021, with the deadline for submitting applications set for November 6.
According to information shared by the Telangana Chief Electoral Officer, 1,53,745 graduates had applied through Form-18 for the Mahabubnagar-Rangareddy-Hyderabad Graduates’ Constituency as of Thursday. Rangareddy recorded the highest number of applications in the constituency at 43,903, followed by Medchal-Malkajgiri with 28,733. Hyderabad accounted for 17,165 applications.
The constituency had 5,31,268 registered voters in 2021. That roll included 3,36,256 men, 1,94,944 women and 68 transgender voters. The current application figures indicate that enrolment activity remains substantially below the previous registered voter base, although the final comparison will depend on applications received before the deadline and the subsequent verification process.
In the Warangal-Khammam-Nalgonda Graduates’ Constituency, 2,01,966 graduates had submitted Form-18 applications. Nalgonda recorded 38,645 applications, the highest among the districts listed, while Khammam recorded 29,850. The constituency had 5,05,565 registered graduates in 2021, comprising 3,32,634 men, 1,72,864 women and 67 transgender voters.
The Telangana Chief Electoral Officer is preparing fresh electoral rolls for both constituencies ahead of elections scheduled for March 2027. The qualifying date for the exercise is November 1, 2026. Eligible graduates can apply online through the Chief Electoral Officer’s website, ceotelangana.nic.in.
Applications can also be submitted physically using Form-18, along with the required documents and certificates, to Electoral Registration Officers, Assistant Electoral Registration Officers, designated officers or additional designated officers. Applicants may also send the forms by post to the concerned electoral registration authorities.
Graduates whose names are already included in existing electoral rolls can use the modified Form-18. The EPIC number is not mandatory for enrolment in Graduates’ Constituencies, but every application must include authenticated copies of the required documents and certificates. The election authorities have clarified that merely referring to an entry in an existing electoral roll will not be sufficient to establish eligibility.
The draft electoral rolls are scheduled to be published on November 25. Claims and objections can be submitted from November 25 to December 10, and the disposal of those claims and objections is scheduled to be completed by December 25. The final electoral rolls are scheduled for publication on December 30.
