The third Surajkund Diwali Mela will be held at the Surajkund Mela Ground in Faridabad from October 23 to 26, bringing around 300 stalls of handicrafts, handloom products, decorative goods and Diwali items from artisans across India.
Organised by the Haryana Tourism Department, the four-day fair will be inaugurated by Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on October 23. Haryana Heritage and Tourism Minister Dr Arvind Sharma and other dignitaries are expected to attend the opening ceremony.
Union Minister Manohar Lal will participate in the closing ceremony on October 26, according to officials cited in the announcement. The programme is planned as a cultural tourism event combining craft displays, traditional food and evening performances.
The stalls will feature handmade products, handloom goods, traditional artworks, home decoration items and other products associated with Diwali. Artisans from different states will use the fair to display their work and reach customers from the wider Delhi-NCR region.
The event will also include a large food court offering traditional cuisines from different parts of the country alongside popular food items. Dishes from established food brands are also expected to be available, giving visitors options beyond shopping and craft displays.
Evening cultural programmes will feature folk artists, dance groups and traditional performers. Sufi and folk singer Kanwar Grewal is scheduled to perform as part of the programme, adding a headline attraction to the fair’s evening schedule.
The Surajkund Diwali Mela is being positioned as a platform to promote Indian handicrafts, folk culture and traditional food while supporting cultural tourism. Its scale also reflects the role of large urban fairs in connecting small producers and craft communities with consumers in a major metropolitan region.
The event is expected to offer visitors a combination of festive shopping, food and cultural performances over four days. The Haryana Tourism Department is the organising authority for the fair, with the opening and closing ceremonies scheduled for October 23 and October 26 respectively.
