A nine-hour railway traffic and power block at Pune yard on Sunday, 11 October, will alter the operations of several passenger trains, with two DEMU services cancelled and multiple long-distance trains shifted to Khadki or Hadapsar. The block is required for upgradation work at the DDS point on the down Miraj main line.
The work will be carried out between 8 am and 5 pm, according to a report by Lokmat – Pune. During this period, trains arriving from or departing towards Hadapsar will not be able to use Platform 2 at Pune station. Services operating towards Saswad Road will also be unable to use Platforms 2 and 3.
The restrictions will affect the movement of trains through Pune station and require changes to the stopping or originating points of several services. The railway administration has advised passengers to check the latest train timings and station information before beginning their journey.
The Satara-Pune DEMU (71420) and Pune-Daund DEMU (71407) will remain cancelled on 11 October. The Baramati-Pune DEMU (71406) will operate only up to Daund instead of Pune.
Among long-distance services, the Jaipur-Pune Express (12940) and Mumbai-Pune Express (12127) will terminate partly at Khadki. The Nagpur-Pune service (12136), Jammu Tawi-Pune service (11078) and Amravati-Pune service (11406) will terminate partly at Hadapsar.
The changes will also apply to trains scheduled to depart from Pune. The Pune-Kolhapur DEMU (11425) will begin its journey from Satara, while the Pune-Jaipur Express (12939) and Pune-Mumbai Express (12128) will depart from Khadki. The Pune-Nagpur Express (12135) will leave from Hadapsar at 5.45 pm.
The affected platforms and temporary changes in train origins and destinations mean that passengers may need to reach a station other than Pune for boarding or alighting. The railway administration has asked travellers to verify the updated service status and station details before departure. The changes will remain in force during the scheduled block on Sunday, with the work window ending at 5 pm.
