The Pune MHADA lottery application deadline has been extended to October 30, 2026, after technical issues linked to the upgradation of the MahaIT system delayed the verification of applicants’ residential and income certificates. The Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority said the extension would give applicants more time to complete the process.
The housing schemes cover flats offered under MHADA’s 15% social housing and 20% inclusive housing provisions. Online applications opened on August 24, 2026, and the schemes have received 2,11,414 registrations so far. Of these applicants, 1,41,417 have paid the required deposit, according to information reported by Punekar News citing MHADA.
The deadline had already been extended earlier because online document verification was taking longer than expected. MHADA said the latest extension followed requests from applicants as well as technical problems arising during the ongoing MahaIT system upgrade.
Residential certificates and income certificates submitted by applicants are verified through MahaIT. Income tax returns are checked online through the Income Tax Department. MHADA said the system upgrade has affected the functioning of websites, portals and applications connected to the verification process.
The authority reported that verification remains pending for 4,925 residential certificates and 8,513 income certificates. These pending checks are part of the application process for applicants seeking to participate in the housing lottery under the two schemes.
The scale of registrations shows the demand being placed on the application and verification system. More than 2.11 lakh people have registered, while over 1.41 lakh have paid the deposit required for their applications. The extension is intended to prevent applicants from losing the opportunity to complete their submissions because of delays in system-based checks.
MHADA’s lottery process relies on online submission, payment and verification of eligibility documents before applications can proceed. The interruption has therefore affected not only the application portal but also the administrative checks required to establish eligibility under the social and inclusive housing categories.
Applicants will now have until October 30, 2026, to complete the application process and address pending requirements. MHADA’s next step is to continue document verification while the MahaIT system upgradation is under way.
