Pune Car Stunt Case: Eight Booked After Risky Reel in Khed

Alandi police have registered a case against eight people after a group allegedly performed dangerous car stunts on a public road in Kelgaon, in Pune district’s Khed taluka, while filming a social media reel. Police have seized the vehicle allegedly used in the stunt and are investigating the incident.

According to the police complaint, the reel was recorded to celebrate the purchase of a new four-wheeler by Mahesh Balakrishna Madke, a resident of Gopalpura in Alandi. Madke allegedly purchased the vehicle on October 7, 2026, after which the group travelled to Kelgaon to film the video.

Police said the group allegedly drove recklessly on the public road and repeatedly spun the car in circles. The manoeuvres allegedly created a risk for the people involved in the filming as well as other road users using the road.

The case also involves the alleged use of a drone without prior permission from the authorities. Police said the filming violated preventive orders issued by the Pimpri-Chinchwad Joint Commissioner of Police. The complaint treats the drone recording as a separate concern because it was carried out without the required authorisation.

Those named in the case include Madke, reel creator Pratik Shinde of Baramati, Vishal Satare and Yash Mungase, along with four other people. The police have not stated in the supplied report whether any arrests have been made.

The seizure of the vehicle places the alleged road stunt at the centre of the investigation. In such cases, the public-road setting is significant because the activity was not confined to a private property or controlled filming location. The police allegation is that the driving created a danger for people who were using the road normally.

The incident also highlights the enforcement challenge created when public roads are used as informal filming spaces for social media content. A reel intended to mark a personal event can involve vehicles, cameras and drones operating in spaces shared with pedestrians and other motorists. The police action in Kelgaon combines road-safety enforcement with action over the alleged breach of restrictions on drone use.

Alandi police are conducting further investigation. The supplied report does not specify the sections of law invoked in the case or the next date of any court proceeding.
