Premier Energies Orders Cross ₹4,000 Crore as Solar Capacity Jumps

Premier Energies solar manufacturing capacity at a photovoltaic cell and module facility in Andhra Pradesh

Premier Energies has received orders worth more than ₹4,000 crore for the July-September quarter of FY27, covering 2,308 MW of solar cells, modules and engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) projects, the company said in a statement.

The orders have come from a mix of major power producers, module manufacturers, EPC companies and other customers. The announcement strengthens the company’s position in India’s expanding solar manufacturing supply chain while increasing the volume of equipment and project execution it is expected to deliver.

The order intake includes supplies of solar cells and modules with a combined capacity of 2,308 MW, as well as EPC project execution. The company did not provide a customer-wise breakup or specify the individual project locations in the statement.

Premier Energies said it has recently nearly doubled its module manufacturing capacity to 11.1 GW. Its solar cell manufacturing capacity has also increased from 3.6 GW to 10.6 GW following the commissioning last month of a 7 GW TOPCon solar cell manufacturing facility at Naidupeta in Andhra Pradesh.

TOPCon, or tunnel oxide passivated contact, is a solar cell technology used in the manufacture of photovoltaic cells. The new Naidupeta facility takes the company’s stated cell capacity substantially above its earlier level, while the increase in module capacity expands its ability to assemble finished solar panels for developers and other customers.

The company’s latest announcement links the growth in its order book to this manufacturing expansion. Chiranjeev Saluja, managing director of Premier Energies, said the growing order book was “a strong validation of our growth strategy and execution ability.”

The orders also illustrate the connection between solar manufacturing capacity and the delivery of utility-scale and other renewable-energy projects. In addition to supplying cells and modules, Premier Energies is taking on EPC work, placing the company across both equipment manufacturing and project execution.

For power producers, module manufacturers and EPC companies, the availability of domestic cell and module capacity can affect procurement and project schedules. However, the company’s statement did not disclose delivery timelines, order completion milestones, the value split between equipment supplies and EPC work, or the expected revenue recognition from the new orders.

Premier Energies’ next stated operational milestone is the ramp-up of its expanded manufacturing base, including the 7 GW TOPCon cell facility at Naidupeta. The company’s order execution and the utilisation of its stated 11.1 GW module and 10.6 GW cell capacities will determine how the announced order book translates into production and project delivery.
