Pooth Khurd Firing: Two Shooters Arrested in Andhra Pradesh

Pooth Khurd firing investigation involving Delhi Police and a business premises

Delhi Police have arrested two men allegedly involved in the firing outside a businessman’s factory and warehouse in Pooth Khurd, outer Delhi, with both suspects being traced to Srikakulam in Andhra Pradesh. The arrests follow an investigation into the firing near Bawana, where no one was injured but several shots were fired at a factory gate and a parked car.

The two suspects have been identified as Arun Sharma, also known as Arun Upadhyay, and Suraj, both aged 19 and residents of Sultanpur Dabas, according to the police. Investigators have described them as alleged shooters in the case and are working to bring them to Delhi after beginning the process of obtaining transit remand.

The firing took place on October 19 near Kapil Dharmakanta in Pooth Khurd. According to the police account cited in the report, two men riding a motorcycle opened fire at the gate of businessman Abhay Jain’s factory and at a Hyundai Aura parked at the location. No injuries were reported in the incident.

Police used CCTV footage, technical evidence and information provided by informers to trace the suspects to Srikakulam, where they were arrested. The next stage of the investigation will focus on establishing the alleged roles of the two men and determining how they travelled to and from the location of the firing.

The police are also examining whether the incident was connected to an attempt to put pressure on the businessman for extortion. A claim taking responsibility for the firing appeared on social media in the names of Daku Kulesiya and Vicky Huddal. The claim has been reported as part of the investigation and has not been established as proof of who ordered or carried out the attack.

Investigators are questioning the arrested men to determine whether they have any links with the Himanshu Bhau gang. They are also examining who allegedly directed the firing, the motive behind targeting the factory and warehouse, and whether other people were involved. The inquiry remains underway, while police continue the legal process to secure the suspects’ transit remand and bring them to Delhi.
