PMPML Launches ₹500 Navratri Temple Tours in Pune Electric Buses

PMPML electric bus for Navratri temple tours in Pune

PMPML has announced Navratri temple-tour services in fully air-conditioned electric buses, allowing devotees and tourists in Pune to visit temples across the city and nearby areas for ₹500 per person per itinerary. The services will depart from Pune Station at 8.30 am and return by 7 pm, with buses travelling via Swargate.

The Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited announcement is based on a press note dated October 8, 2026. The temple tours are being offered under Tourism Bus Service No. 13, which has been divided into two itineraries. Both routes are scheduled to operate on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays, while services on other days will depend on passenger demand.

Service No. 13 (1) will cover Taljai Mata Temple, Taljai; Padmavati Tukai Mata Temple at Padmavati; the temple at Kondhanpur; Shrinath Mhaskoba–Jogeshwari Mata Temple at Kodit in Purandar taluka; and Yamai Mata Temple at Shivari in Purandar taluka. The bus will begin its return journey after visiting the listed destinations and is scheduled to reach Pune Station at 7 pm.

Service No. 13 (2) will include Mahalaxmi Temple at Sarasbaug, Tambdi Jogeshwari Temple in Budhwar Peth, Chatushrungi Mata Temple on Senapati Bapat Road, Vaishnavi Mata Temple at Pimpri Camp and Bhavani Mata Temple in Bhavani Peth. The fare for this itinerary is also ₹500 per passenger.

The announcement expands PMPML’s existing tourism bus network, which the undertaking says comprises 13 services covering religious and tourist destinations. PMPML has also added destinations to two other routes in response to requests from travellers and devotees. Tourism Bus Service No. 5 now includes Dhayreshwar Temple in Dhayari village and the Jadhav Wada historical museum in Nanded village. Tourism Bus Service No. 12 now includes Shri Kshetra Pandeshwar, a Shiva temple on Pandeshwar–Nazare Road that the press note describes as dating to the Pandava era.

PMPML said its tourism services have received a favourable response from travellers and devotees. It attributed stronger weekend demand to weekly holidays observed by employees of offices, educational institutions, industrial establishments and IT companies. The use of electric buses also gives the service a distinct operational profile within the undertaking’s tourism offering, although the announcement did not provide route-wise fleet or ridership figures.

Tickets can be booked at PMPML pass centres at Deccan Gymkhana, Pune Station, Swargate, Katraj, Hadapsar Gadital, Pune Municipal Corporation headquarters, Bhosari Bus Stand and Nigdi. Passengers seeking booking assistance or information about the destinations can contact PMPML coordinator Nitin Gurav at 9850501862. The undertaking has appealed to devotees, tourists and nature lovers to use its tourism bus services during Navratri.
