Bihar has initiated a large-scale upgrade of rural connectivity infrastructure, with groundwork completed for nearly 600 road projects spanning close to 1,900 kilometres. The development, led by the state’s Rural Works Department, marks a significant step in expanding access across villages and strengthening last-mile connectivity—an area critical to inclusive economic growth.

The programme, covering 595 rural roads, is set to enter its construction phase in the current financial year under a broader state-led infrastructure framework.
