Panchkula’s electoral roll revision has progressed to the hearing stage for more than 1.03 lakh cases, with district officials directing the disposal of 5,643 pending cases before the final rolls are published on November 6.
A total of 103,684 notices have been generated under the Special Intensive Revision-2026 of the photo electoral rolls, according to figures reviewed by Panchkula deputy commissioner-cum-district election officer Mona Sharma. The pending hearing cases account for 5.44% of the notices issued so far.
The progress was reviewed at a meeting held to assess the revision process and ensure that pending work is completed within the prescribed schedule. Sharma directed electoral registration officers and the sub-divisional officers (civil) of Kalka and Panchkula to dispose of all pending hearing cases by October 28.
The hearings form part of the process through which electoral authorities examine notices and the documents submitted by voters. Officials were instructed to avoid delays in processing both notices and hearings so that eligible residents do not face difficulties in submitting documents for inclusion in the electoral rolls.
The revision covers the electoral rolls in Panchkula district, including the Kalka and Panchkula administrative areas. The district administration has asked voters who have not yet submitted the required documents to contact their booth-level officers and complete the process at the earliest.
The pending caseload places a time-bound administrative requirement on electoral registration officers ahead of the final publication date. Officials must complete the hearings by October 28, leaving the administration to process the outcomes before the final electoral roll is scheduled to be published on November 6.
The district election administration’s directions make timely disposal the immediate priority in the remaining stages of the revision. Voters requiring assistance with document submission have been advised to approach their booth-level officers before the process reaches the final-roll publication stage.
