North Paravur traffic restrictions will be enforced on Wednesday during Navratri celebrations at the Mookambika Temple, with vehicle movement barred on key approach roads from 3am to 1pm and pedestrians given exclusive access to several routes leading to the shrine.
The main closure will cover the stretch between KMK Junction and Pullamkulam Chitranjali Junction. The restriction will apply to all vehicles, including two-wheelers, during the designated 10-hour period. Authorities have also prohibited vehicle movement on roads connecting different parts of North Paravur to Mookambika Road.
The affected routes include the road from the limited stop bus stand to Mookambika Road, the Paravur Post Office–Mookambika Road stretch, St Germaine’s Road, the Palaaram Junction–Mookambika Road route, the Shanti Hospital–Mookambika Road road and the Paravur Court–Mookambika Road stretch. Only pedestrians will be permitted on these approaches while the restrictions are in force.
The traffic plan is intended to manage the movement of devotees around the temple during the Navratri festival celebrations. By keeping the listed roads free of vehicles, the arrangement will create pedestrian-only access on the final approaches to the temple and limit the movement of private vehicles through the festival area.
Parking facilities have been arranged at four locations for devotees arriving by vehicle. These are the limited stop bus stand, the Pullamkulam school ground, the court premises and Sunny Convention Centre. Visitors have been asked, through the traffic arrangement reported by the Times of India, to use these designated areas rather than attempting to drive towards the temple.
The deployment also includes emergency-response and public-safety measures. Fire and rescue personnel will be stationed in the area, while medical teams will be available to handle emergencies during the celebrations. Around 200 police personnel will be assigned to security duty in and around the temple premises.
The restrictions mean that commuters and residents using the affected roads will need to account for the closure window between 3am and 1pm on Wednesday. The temporary ban covers both the main approach between KMK Junction and Pullamkulam Chitranjali Junction and the connecting roads identified by the authorities, while the designated parking sites are expected to serve vehicles kept outside the pedestrian zone.
