Noida Schools on High Alert After Bomb Threat Emails, No Suspicious Item Found

Police security teams checking a Noida school after a bomb threat email

Around a dozen schools in Noida, including campuses in Sector 16, received bomb threats by email on Monday, prompting Gautam Buddh Nagar police to deploy bomb-disposal, dog-squad, fire and local police teams for security checks. No suspicious object had been found during the checks reported so far, while the police cyber team began investigating the emails.

The alert was received at about 11am, according to the report. The schools named in connection with the threat include Apeejay School, Step by Step School and Delhi Public School in Sector 16. The police response covered the affected school premises and involved bomb-disposal squads, dog squads, local police, fire brigade personnel and additional security-check teams.

The Gautam Buddh Nagar Commissionerate said the information concerned bomb threats sent by email to schools under its jurisdiction. Local police responded immediately and began checking the campuses with specialist teams. The exercise was intended to establish whether any suspicious object or other security risk was present inside the premises.

The checks had not found anything suspicious at the time of the report. Police personnel nevertheless continued to maintain heightened vigilance at the schools. School managements, children and parents were alerted after information about the threats emerged, although the report did not state that any school had been evacuated or closed.

The incident places multiple agencies involved in school safety and emergency response on alert at the same time. Police teams secured the campuses while bomb-disposal and dog squads searched for possible threats, and the fire brigade was also involved in the checks. The coordinated response reflects the immediate steps taken by authorities when a threat targets occupied educational premises, even before its credibility is established.

Alongside the physical searches, the police cyber team began technical investigation into the emails. Officers were examining the source and method of the threat and other related details. The report described the message as a hoax call, but the police continued treating the matter seriously while the investigation remained in progress.

Police appealed to people not to pay attention to rumours and said that further checks and technical investigation were continuing. No official finding identifying the sender, confirming the motive or establishing whether the threat was credible had been reported at the time of publication.
