A Noida school bomb threat sent by email to around 12 campuses triggered a security response on Monday, with police, bomb-disposal, dog-squad and fire teams deployed for checks across the affected schools. Authorities said no suspicious object had been found during the searches and that a cyber team was investigating the source of the threat.
The schools named in the report include APJ School, Step by Step and Delhi Public School in Sector 16, along with other schools under the Gautam Buddh Nagar commissionerate. The threat information reached the police at around 11am, after which local police initiated checks and security arrangements at the campuses.
According to the police information cited by Navbharat Times, teams from the bomb-disposal squad, an A.S. check team, the dog squad and the fire brigade were sent to the schools. The teams inspected the premises and took charge of security arrangements while school managements, students and parents were alerted to the situation.
The police said the threat had been received through email. The immediate response involved physical checks of the school premises as well as a technical investigation by the cyber team to determine the source and method used to send the message. The report did not identify the sender or state whether the email had been traced.
The searches had not found anything suspicious at the time of reporting. Police said they were continuing to exercise caution and were carrying out the necessary investigation into the threat. The response places multiple agencies involved in school safety on the same operational footing, including local police, specialist search teams, firefighters and cyber investigators.
Authorities appealed to the public not to pay attention to rumours. Further action will depend on the outcome of the technical investigation and the continuing checks at the affected school campuses.
