The Noida Police reshuffle has assigned new responsibilities to DCP- and ACP-rank officers across the Gautam Buddh Nagar police commissionerate, including dedicated leadership for Greater Noida, Central Noida, police lines and traffic management. The changes were made by Police Commissioner Lakshmi Singh and were reported on October 12.
Shravan Kumar Singh has been appointed DCP Greater Noida, while Dr Praveen Ranjan Singh will take charge as DCP Central Noida. Shailendra Kumar Singh has been given responsibility as DCP Lines, and IPS officer Syed Ali Abbas has been appointed DCP Traffic.
The revised deployment changes the supervisory structure across Noida, Greater Noida and Central Noida. The officers will be responsible for law and order, crime prevention, coordination between police units and the administration of their respective areas or departments.
Greater Noida’s policing responsibilities cover a rapidly expanding urban area with residential societies, industrial zones, major roads and growing commercial activity. In his new role, Shravan Kumar Singh will oversee policing in the area, including law-and-order arrangements, crime control and coordination among different police units, according to the report.
Dr Praveen Ranjan Singh’s appointment as DCP Central Noida places him in charge of policing across the central part of the city. The responsibilities include maintaining law and order in sectors and residential areas, preventing crime and overseeing citizen-safety arrangements.
The appointment of Syed Ali Abbas as DCP Traffic comes as traffic management remains a core policing responsibility across Noida and Greater Noida. His role will cover vehicle movement, junction management, congestion control and road safety, as well as coordination with other police units involved in traffic operations.
Shailendra Kumar Singh, as DCP Lines, will handle administrative responsibilities linked to the police lines and the functioning of that unit. The deployment therefore changes not only field policing arrangements but also an internal administrative responsibility within the commissionerate.
At the ACP level, Rakesh Pratap Singh has been appointed ACP for Circle 3 in the Noida Zone. His responsibilities will include supervising police work in the circle, monitoring local police stations and supporting law-and-order management.
The reshuffle affects the Greater Noida, Central Noida and Noida zones, as well as the traffic and police-lines units. The new officers are expected to begin work under their assigned responsibilities for policing, traffic operations, crime prevention and administrative coordination.
