NDMC Suvidha Camp Logs 91 Grievances as Civic Fixes Begin

The New Delhi Municipal Council received 91 public grievances at its monthly Suvidha Camp held at the NDCC Convention Centre on Jai Singh Road, with officials from 30 departments attending to residents’ complaints and queries. The camp was held on Saturday and brought civic officials and citizens together through a single-window grievance platform.

NDMC Secretary Rahul Singh led more than 100 officers and staff at the camp and reviewed the complaints with residents. He directed heads of departments to ensure that grievances were resolved within prescribed timelines and called for recurring complaints to be addressed through systemic measures rather than through isolated responses.

The complaints covered a range of civic functions, including the Personnel, Civil Engineering, Horticulture, Public Health, Enforcement, Commercial, Tax and Estate departments. The spread of complaints across these departments placed issues relating to municipal works, public health, enforcement, taxation, estates and civic services before officials at one location.

NDMC Chairman Manoj Kumar Dwivedi described the camp as a single-window platform where residents could register grievances, seek information about civic services and interact directly with senior officials. According to the Council, residents were also informed about prescribed procedures and expected timelines for matters requiring action or further consideration.

The camp also included discussions on issues requiring policy-level consideration. The Council said feedback received from residents would be used to modify the existing grievance mechanism, while officials would examine the root causes of complaints that recur over time.

NDMC said it would launch a revamped version of the initiative, titled “Suvidha Camp 2.0”. The proposed changes are intended to support quicker disposal of complaints, improve service delivery and use feedback from residents to alter the existing mechanism. The Council did not provide a separate timeline for the launch in the information available.

The next phase of the initiative will therefore depend on the implementation of the revised mechanism and the time-bound action directed by the civic body’s senior officials. NDMC’s stated focus is on resolving the complaints received at the camp while using recurring grievances to identify changes needed in its service-delivery system.
