Two Namo Bharat stations in Delhi will remain closed for about 25 hours ahead of the proposed CJP protest on October 10, although trains between Anand Vihar and Modipuram will continue to operate on their scheduled timetable, according to a report by Jagran – New Delhi.
Sarai Kale Khan and New Ashok Nagar stations will be closed from 9 pm on October 9 until 10 pm on October 10. During this period, passengers will not be allowed to board or alight at either station. Train services on the Anand Vihar, Delhi–Modipuram, Uttar Pradesh section will continue to run as scheduled.
The temporary closure has been announced as part of security and traffic-management arrangements in the capital ahead of the proposed demonstration. The report said the CJP has called for a protest at Jantar Mantar on October 10 against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, with concerns related to the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls.
Delhi Police has not granted permission for the proposed protest, citing concerns related to public safety, law and order, and traffic management, according to the report. The security measures are expected to affect both road and public transport operations in parts of Delhi.
The Namo Bharat passenger notice advises commuters to plan their journeys around the temporary station closures. Travellers who normally begin or end their journey at Sarai Kale Khan or New Ashok Nagar will need to make alternative arrangements during the closure window. The trains will continue to run, but they will not provide access to or from the two affected stations.
The restrictions are part of a wider set of transport-related measures reported ahead of the protest. Entry and exit gates at 57 Delhi Metro stations will also remain closed as part of the security arrangements, though the supplied report does not specify the individual stations affected.
For passengers travelling through the Delhi-NCR regional rapid transit system, the distinction between train operation and station access is significant. A train may continue to run along the corridor while commuters are unable to use particular stations, requiring them to revise boarding, alighting or interchange plans before travelling.
The passenger advisory requested that commuters confirm the status of services before reaching the stations and plan their travel accordingly. The reported closure will end at 10 pm on October 10, after which access arrangements will depend on further instructions from the authorities.
