Mysuru Dasara Tours Add Three Affordable KSRTC Day Trips

The Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) has introduced three one-day tour packages from Mysuru for visitors during the Dasara holidays, offering bus-based access to religious, heritage, nature and eco-tourism destinations across the region from October 16 to 26.

The Devadarshini, Giridarshini and Jaladarshini packages will start from the KSRTC suburban bus stand, with buses departing at 6.30am. The tours have been planned while schools and pre-university colleges across Karnataka remain closed for Dasara until October 27, a period expected to increase tourist movement in and around Mysuru.

Devadarshini will cover Nanjangud, Talakad, Mudukuthore, Shivanasamudra (Bluff), Somanathapura and Krishna Raja Sagar. The itinerary spans 325 km and focuses on religious and historical destinations. The fare is Rs 400 for adults and Rs 250 for children.

Giridarshini is designed for visitors seeking nature and hill destinations. Its route includes Bandipur, Gopalaswamy Hills, Biligiriranganatha Temple, Nanjangud and Chamundi Hills. Tickets cost Rs 450 for adults and Rs 300 for children.

The third package, Jaladarshini, links water and eco-tourism destinations in the wider region. The 250-km route includes Dubare, the Golden Temple, Cauvery Nisargadhama, Abbey Falls, Raja Seat and Harangi Dam. Adult tickets cost Rs 300, while children will be charged Rs 200.

Visitors can book tickets online through the KSRTC website, www.ksrtc.in. The corporation said the packages were introduced to provide affordable sightseeing options beyond the main Dasara events within Mysuru city.

KSRTC Mysuru rural divisional controller ST Veeresh said the tours were intended to help tourists explore destinations around Mysuru through organised public transport. The packages also allow visitors to cover multiple locations in a single day without arranging separate vehicles or navigating several regional routes independently.

The special services are part of a larger festival transport plan. KSRTC expects around 15 lakh passengers during the 11-day Dasara festival and has deployed 700 special buses. Additional interstate services will also operate to key destinations in Tamil Nadu and Kerala.

The tour packages will operate between October 16 and 26, with departures from the suburban bus stand beginning at 6.30am. Online reservations remain available through the KSRTC website.
