Mumbai Crime Branch Arrests 3 Shooters in Juhu Car Firing Case

Mumbai Crime Branch officers investigating the Juhu firing case near a city road

Mumbai Crime Branch has arrested all three men accused of opening fire at actor Tiger Shroff’s car near Juhu police station, bringing the immediate manhunt to an end a day after the attack injured his driver and a passerby. The accused were detained at Kota railway station in Rajasthan while travelling by train, according to the report.

The firing took place around 7 pm on Sunday near Pushpa Narsee Park, also known as Jamnabai Nursery, as Shroff was leaving a birthday gathering. The location was approximately 350 metres from Juhu police station. Police said two assailants approached the vehicle and fired repeatedly while a third waited on a motorcycle.

The attackers then fled towards SV Road and Vile Parle railway station. Seven rounds were reportedly fired. Shroff escaped serious injury but suffered minor abrasions from shattered glass. His driver, identified as Firdaus, sustained a bullet injury to his left hand, while a passerby, Umesh Charan, was shot in the chest. The driver reportedly attempted to chase the assailants despite being injured.

Initial medical assessments at Nanavati Hospital found a foreign body lodged in the driver’s left hand, with surgery likely to be required. Shroff was also taken for medical evaluation. Photographs released after Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde visited the actor showed dressings on his shoulder and chest and a bandage on his right arm. Shinde said the injuries were caused by gunpowder and glass fragments and assured the family of the state government’s support.

The three accused include two men from Haryana and one from Maharashtra. Their arrest in Kota followed the police investigation into the motorcycle used in the attack and the escape route towards the railway network. Further details about their identities, alleged roles and the charges against them were not provided in the supplied report.

The firing has also triggered an investigation into threats posted online by individuals claiming to represent the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. A social media post attributed to Anil Pandit and Harman Sandhu claimed responsibility for the attack and alleged that Shroff had been warned against working with actor Salman Khan. The post also threatened people in the film industry associated with Khan and referred to rival groups allegedly using the gang’s name.

Mumbai Crime Branch is verifying the authenticity of the social media claims and an accompanying audio message. In the recording, Pandit addressed Salman Khan, demanded an apology to Lawrence Bishnoi and the Bishnoi community, and issued threats against Khan and his family. Police are investigating whether the online material is connected to the shooting and are working to identify all those involved.

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis spoke to Shroff and Mumbai Police Commissioner Deven Bharti after the incident and directed the police to take swift and strict action. The investigation will now focus on the arrested men, the firearm used, the alleged gang links and the origin of the threats issued online.
