Molarband Civic Issues Get Time-Bound MCD Action After Inspection

Molarband civic issues inspection covering a Delhi road affected by waterlogging

The Municipal Corporation of Delhi has ordered immediate repairs at damaged rooms of the MCD Primary School in Molarband village and directed officials to temporarily move students to a safe alternative location while the work is carried out.

MCD Commissioner Sanjeev Khirwar issued the directions during an inspection of Molarband on Wednesday, according to a report by Millennium Post. He instructed officials to complete the school repairs by Monday and said student safety should remain the priority during the intervention.

Khirwar also asked officials to examine the possibility of developing a park within the school premises. The proposal is intended to improve the learning environment, although the report did not specify the proposed size, funding source or implementation timeline for the park.

The inspection covered a range of civic issues across Molarband and nearby areas, including sanitation, waste management, encroachments, healthcare facilities and waterlogging. The directions place responsibility on multiple civic functions rather than limiting the response to the school building.

At the Molarband Extension school, officials were asked to examine the feasibility of starting an MCD dispensary at the POTA cabin. The report did not indicate whether the proposed facility has received administrative approval, nor did it specify the services, staffing or budget that would be required.

Waterlogging on Main Jaitpur Road was also reviewed during the inspection. Khirwar directed officials to identify its underlying cause and undertake technical measures for a permanent solution, instead of depending solely on repeated pumping. The instruction signals a shift from short-term water removal to investigating the drainage or infrastructure conditions responsible for recurring accumulation, although the specific cause was not identified in the report.

Officials were further instructed to clear waste dumped along roads in Tajpur Pahadi Mines and Molarband and to address the issue of stray animals. At Shaheed Bijender Singh Chowk, the Commissioner ordered priority action on beautification, the removal of encroachments and illegal rehri vendors, cleanliness, and proper maintenance of the martyr’s statue.

The directions cover public education, basic healthcare, drainage, solid waste, street management and public-space maintenance across the locality. Their effectiveness will depend on coordination between the relevant MCD departments and whether the promised time-bound monitoring produces documented completion of the works.

Officials were instructed to coordinate across departments and ensure time-bound monitoring of the measures. The first stated milestone is completion of the school-room repairs by Monday, along with the temporary relocation of students to a safe alternative site during the work.
