MHADA Pune Lottery 2026 Hit by Server Failure Ahead of Deadline

MHADA Pune Lottery 2026 applicants waiting at a housing board office

The MHADA Pune Lottery 2026 application process has been disrupted by a server failure affecting the verification of domicile and income certificates, leaving thousands of applicants unable to complete their forms before the October 15 deadline.

The Pune Housing and Area Development Board has announced 4,862 homes for applicants in Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad. According to a report by Lokmat, more than 18,000 documents are pending verification on the backend of the system because barcodes on certificates issued by tehsildars are not being validated through the Maharashtra Information Technology Corporation’s, or Maha-IT’s, server.

Applicants cannot pay the deposit and submit their forms finally until the required documents are approved. The problem has led some applicants to repeatedly upload their certificates, increasing the load on the system and adding to delays in the verification process.

The application deadline was initially September 30 but was extended to October 15 after technical problems affected the process. With only a few days remaining, applicants have reportedly been visiting MHADA offices in large numbers to seek assistance. Officials have been required to explain the online verification problem to citizens arriving at the offices.

The reported failure is associated with the Maha-IT server rather than the MHADA website itself. MHADA’s information and communication technology department has taken up the issue with Maha-IT and is following up to resolve the technical fault, according to the report.

The disruption illustrates how a housing lottery that is administered online depends on several linked public systems. Applicants must obtain certificates through one government channel, upload them to the MHADA application platform and have their barcodes validated through another system before they can proceed to payment. A failure at the verification stage prevents the applicant from completing the entire transaction, even when the underlying documents have already been issued.

The number of pending verifications also indicates the scale of the immediate administrative burden. Lokmat reported that more than 18,000 documents were awaiting backend verification. The report did not provide a separate figure for the number of unique applicants affected, since one applicant may have submitted more than one document or attempted repeated uploads.

MHADA officials are considering an extension if the server problem is not resolved before October 15. Senior officials told Lokmat that efforts were under way to find a solution through Maha-IT and that the situation was being monitored. A decision on any further extension would be taken after discussions with senior authorities, the report said.

Until the verification system is restored or an alternative process is announced, applicants remain unable to move to the deposit-payment stage where their documents have not been approved. The immediate milestones are the resolution of the Maha-IT server issue and MHADA’s decision on whether to extend the application deadline.
