The MHADA Pune housing lottery application deadline has been extended to October 22, giving applicants additional time to complete document verification and pay the required deposit for homes offered under the board’s social and inclusive housing schemes.
Applicants can now submit their online forms until 11.59 pm on October 22, according to information provided by the Pune Housing and Area Development Board. The extension follows delays in the online verification of domicile and income certificates uploaded by applicants.
The housing draw includes homes offered under MHADA’s 15 per cent social housing scheme and 20 per cent inclusive housing scheme. The board had published the advertisement for the sale of these homes on August 24, when online registration also began at noon.
As of the latest update, 165,028 applicants had registered for the lottery. Of these, 101,811 applicants had paid the required deposit. Applicants must complete the application process and pay the deposit before the revised deadline for their forms to be considered.
The verification process involves multiple government systems. MahaIT is checking the domicile and income certificates submitted online, while the Income Tax Department is verifying income-tax returns. Delays in these checks had earlier led MHADA to extend the application deadline to October 15.
However, verification backlogs continued. MHADA said 3,872 domicile certificates and 9,142 income certificates were still pending verification. The latest extension is intended to give applicants time to complete their documentation and submit their forms despite the delays in the online process.
The scale of the pending verification is significant for a housing lottery in which eligibility depends on documentary checks. Applicants who have registered but have not completed the required verification or paid the deposit may not be able to participate unless they finish the process within the revised timeline.
The final draw for the homes is scheduled to take place on December 4, Pune board chief officer Rahul Sakore said. MHADA has not announced any further extension beyond October 22 in the information provided.
